This song is specially commissioned by Singapore's Ministry of Communications and Information: MCI as the opening theme song for the 4th and final season of the dialect drama series "Eat Already" .
 
The inspiration of《酸甜苦涩》centres around flavours of food, which is described in the song as a reflection of life's journey. It describes the special bond we have with our love ones in the sharing of our life experiences, and how love always prevails.
 
The lyrics of the song begin with “天亮" (Dawn) and progresses throughout the song into “下午” (Noon), “黄昏” (Dusk) and "晚上“ (Night), which is also a personification of life's journey and how we are always there for one another.

“志在四方 The Dream Makers 1” is MediaCorp TV’s 50th anniversary blockbuster drama series, which revolves around the lives, relationships and values of career women. It features a stellar cast of some of Singapore's leading actors including Jeanette Aw, Rui En, Zoe Tay and Qi YiWu. This drama series was one of the most popular drama series in 2014 and went on to become the biggest winner at Star Awards 2014 with a total of 9 awards, including “Best Drama Series”，and Serene won “Best Theme Song” for 《幸福不难》the theme song which she wrote for the series. 

The drama series has featured prominent female Singaporean artists in its OST; apart from Serene, it has also featured works by Tanya Chua and Kit Chan.
